The Wish-A-Fish Foundation organizes children’s fishing days throughout the year and we call them Wish-A-Fish events. We focus on families that have children with “special needs” such as a life-threatening illness, physical or learning disability, but we try to take the entire family out and make everyone in family feel special. Each “special child” (including brothers and sisters) participating receives a FREE t-shirt and together all the family then spends a day of fun and fishing on the water. |

We have 3 ways for the families to enjoy a Wish-A-Fish event. 1. Group Private Boater Event. We arrange for multiple private boat owners and families (typically 25-30 families) to come together at a local state park or boat ramp. We then take the entire group of people out for a day a fun and fishing together. After the fishing activities are complete we have a picnic so everyone may share the day’s events with each other. Any children’s prizes we receive that day will then be handed out to the children to really make the day special. Please Note: For families (Adult & Children) with more than 4 total people we MAY have to split the families into 2 or more boats. The boats will go out together so you will be able to fish side-by-side |

2. Single Private Boater Event. This event is similar to one of the group events but for a family who can’t make it to group event. It is a one-on-one arrangement with the private captain(s) at the family’s convenience. This is Wish-A-Fish’s way to make sure we don’t have disappointed children. Please Note: For families (Adult & Children) with more than 4 total people we MAY have to split the families into 2 or more boats. The boats will go out together so you will be able to fish side-by-side |

|
3. Charter Boat Event. This event is scheduled for a smaller group of families (typically 4-7 families) to go fishing on a single Charter Boat. Since the participating Charter boats are providing their services for free we schedule these events later in the summer and during the middle of the week. |
